Compass & Chaos is a space for stories, reflections, and tools for navigating a full, meaningful life—especially when that life feels a little chaotic.
Here, I write honestly about motherhood, identity, movement, and growth, while learning how to stay grounded no matter where in the world I am.
What This Blog Is About
This blog explores life at the intersection of structure and surrender. Topics include:
- Motherhood – the beauty, the exhaustion, and everything in between
- Life as an expat – starting over, again and again
- Living in Switzerland – daily life, cultural contrasts, and quiet lessons
- Working motherhood – navigating life with two small children while building a career
- The challenges of living abroad – belonging, loneliness, resilience, and reinvention
- Manifestation & personal development – mindset, intention, and inner work
Some posts are practical. Others are reflective. All of them are real.
My Story
My name is Yara Misske.
I’m half German, half Brazilian, and I’ve moved 26 times in my life – across cities, countries, and continents. Movement has shaped who I am, how I see the world, and how I define home.
I’m a working mother of two small children, navigating life between cultures while trying to grow, stay present, and create a life that feels aligned—not just productive.
Compass & Chaos was born from that tension:
the need for direction, and the acceptance that life is rarely linear.
Why Compass & Chaos
Because life doesn’t come with a map.
And because chaos doesn’t mean you’re lost.
This space is for anyone who is:
- Building a life across borders
- Raising children while rediscovering themselves
- Learning how to balance ambition, family, and inner peace
- Looking for meaning, not perfection
What’s Coming
Right now, Compass & Chaos is a weekly blog.
Over time, this platform will grow to include:
- Services
- Curated products and resources
- Tools designed to support growth, clarity, and intentional living
Everything offered here will reflect the same values as the blog: honesty, depth, and purpose.
